Hands-On Mold Making Workshop

In this class students will provide a model to be molded. The class will last three days and will cover one and two piece molds, as well as brush-on, pour on, and blanket molds.

- On the first day we will go over the different molds that each student will make, according to their model, and start the clay wall process. For some students the first part of their mold will be poured. The second day will pick up where the first left off, continuing to build parting lines and then to pour the molds. The materials will be allowed to cure over night, and on the third day we will go over de-molding, pouring into the molds, and then finishing the casts (as this is primarily a mold making class, castings will be limited).

- While material are setting up demonstrations of casting materials and techniques will be given, as well as an overview of body casting and simple one piece molds.

PLEASE NOTE: If you wish to bring your own artwork to class to make a mold of you will be required to submit pictures of their models for approval before Friday February 8th. Because it is a short amount of time some models may be too complicated and not approved. If you do not want to bring your own piece to make a mold from we will provide you with a model to use. |

- Sign up & Submit images by Friday May 16th if you want to bring your own piece to make a mold of.
- Sign up by May 26th if you are not bringing your own piece (we will provide one for you to make a mold from.)
